Dundee City Council Education GMB Members

Dear Member

We have today, 11th December written to Dundee City Council as your employer to request that decisive action is taken to move to blended working to protect you, your families, and the wider community moving into the festive period.

With St Johns moving to a blended model due to high numbers of absent staff it is clear that this model is achievable.

An overwhelming majority of you told us that you would be prepared to take some form of action if school closures or a blended model were not introduced if tier 4 restrictions are imposed. We believe that moving to blended working from the 18th December would help to mitigate further spread of the virus and a potential move to tier 4, and would support you all in having a relaxing festive break after what has been an extremely difficult year for all of you.

We will keep you updated with any developments and we believe that this would be the right decision for the council to make for the community.

GMB Scotland will never compromise on your health and safety. If you would like to become more involved in your union then please drop us an email dundee@gmb.org.uk or contact your local rep. Full training and support is provided.

If you are aware of any of your colleagues who aren’t in a union, then please encourage them to join us as the campaigning union in Dundee City Council here:  https://www.gmb.org.uk/join-gmb

If you have any questions at all about this or any other issue then please contact your rep in the first instance or email us at the above address.
