Dear Member
Training
Some of you raised concerns around being asked to do training in a small room and how this may deviate from the current guidance, as well as the agreed process on work bubbles.
We have raised this with Tayside Contracts and have advised them that we do not believe that there are sufficient protections in place and that people from across Tayside should not all be in training together. In the absence of a satisfactory response, we wanted to advise you that if you have an issue with this, then please do speak to your line manager as we believe that it is unreasonable for you to be asked to do this, particularly at a time when covid-19 rates of infection are on the significant increase.
We know that some of you, as well as some members of your families may have underlying health conditions and this could potentially put you and them at risk. We do believe that this is unreasonable, is not safe, and that you would be well within your rights to submit a grievance and politely decline the training to be delivered in such a way.
We have advised TC of alternatives. You can carry out training in your work bubbles, they can deliver more sessions to reduce the amount of people in a room at any one time, or they can do the theory parts online where this is practical.
Please contact your rep in the first instance if you have any queries about this.
