Tayside Contracts have updated their severe weather policy.
GMB have raised several questions relating to this, however due to the current wintry spell we thought it better that it went out.
We have advised that we do not expect any local arrangements to be undermined.
Anyone with reasonable adjustments should have something in place and a risk assessment carried out. You should not be disadvantaged as a result of having a disability.
Remember that if you have children and their schools are closed then you should be entitled to other types of leave rather than your own which you can discuss with your manager.
GMB have advised Tayside Contracts that if any issues arise we will raise them as and when.
If you’re unsure about any situation then please contact your local rep in the first instance and they can seek advice from the Branch Secretary if required.
