GMB@Perth & Kinross Council – Janitors Update

GMB@PKC

Fraser MacGillivray, your rep, along with Jim Cunningham Branch Secretary, and myself met with representatives from Tayside Contracts to discuss the proposed transfer on Tuesday 16the May.

Tayside Contracts took the representations you all made at the meeting last Friday, where it was expressed that you would prefer service to be taken into consideration over the amount of overtime worked, due to the fact that many of you either don’t have an opportunity to work overtime, or you cant due to other responsibilities and commitments.

As a result of representations made, we believe that we have a proposal to put to you all to see whether you agree or not. We do feel that we have reached a sensible position, based on representations you made and the way in which you would prefer the offers to be made.

We would like to meet with you next week, which is the earliest opportunity we have to do this. We would like to meet with you next Wednesday, 24th May at Perth Grammar at 1.15 PM in the theatre. Please note that this meeting is for GMB members only. GMB is by far the largest majority in Tayside Contracts for facilities staff.

Non-members are still welcome to join GMB and have a say in this proposal. Please contact Fraser MacGillivray if you would like to join, or, you can come along on the day and join at the meeting. Only union members will be able to vote on whether you accept the proposal or not.

Fraternally
