Tayside Contracts Catering update

FAO: Tayside Contract Members

Dear Member

GMB had a meeting on 22nd December with Tayside Contracts, who have advised us that all staff in Angus will return to work on the 6th January and all staff in Dundee and Perth will return on 7th January.

As of these dates there will be keyworkers children attending school and as of 11th January to 18th January there will be online learning for the rest of the pupils.

Tayside Contracts staff will be catering for these children and 6 schools will be hubs to do the meals for Dundee pupils. This will mean that hot bags will be produced again, and the CPU will stop production of the frozen meals until further notice.

In the meantime, Tayside Contracts will be asking cooks to continue cooking for these children, but this will be on the grade 5 until the frozen meals can commence from the CPU. Any cooks that have been regraded starting in January will now continue on grade 5.

GMB will provide further updates as and when the situation changes. We thank you for all your hard work throughout 2020 and look forward to supporting you in 2021.
