GMB@TC’s Members Update on backdated pay, dates & Impact on universal credit

FAO: GMB Tayside Contracts Members

Dear Member

RE: Update on backdated pay, dates & Impact on universal credit

Tayside contracts have confirmed that the payroll team have already commenced work on calculating the backdating pay award and the new rates of pay which should commence on the following dates:

  • Facilities 4-weekly paid employees – on Thursday 23 December 2021
  • Construction 4-weekly paid employees – on Thursday 30 December 2021
  • Office-based and Facilities monthly paid employees – on Friday 31 December 2021

We would like to thank all our members and reps for your involvement throughout this year’s pay negotiations. The impact that late negotiations have on you are unacceptable and we would encourage you all to make sure to please vote in future ballots.

The more of you who participate, the harder it is for the negotiations to drag on.

If you would like to get more involved and become a rep, please get in touch with the
Dundee office.

We are aware that many of our members who receive Universal Credit will be worried about the impact this backdated pay will have on your payments. GMB would encourage any member who has concerns to seek independent help and advice about Universal Credit from either your local Jobcentre Plus on 0800 169 0190 or from the Department for Work and Pensions on 0800 328 5644.
