We have urgently raised an issue regarding cleaners in TC being expected to attend work in dangerous conditions. You should all have been told to go home by now.
We have advised TC that they have put the Health and safety of members at work again. The policy for adverse weather states that decisions must be made in advance. This has been expected, that is why there have been weather warnings in place. Furthermore, buses have been suspended, how are they expecting staff to get home.
With this in mind, we are asking you to take pictures of the conditions you are being expected to get home in and send them to – dundee@gmb.org.uk – these will be treated confidentially. By doing this it means that we have examples for taking this issue further.
If you are asked to attend work and your unable to get there safely. We would advise you to take pictures and again send them in.
