GMB DCC Members who pay SSSC Fees
Your union raised the issue of the continuing sex discrimination in Dundee City Council at the budget meeting yesterday in particular in relation to the fact that you are required to pay for your SSSC fees.
We want to see Dundee City Council paying for these fees for you, whilst backdating any payment you have been required to pay so far.
It is simply not right that workers like you, who work in predominantly female roles, have to pay these fees, when other male dominated roles in the council have theirs paid for them. It is time for the discrimination to stop.
We provide a solicitor to represent you if you are required to attend a SSSC hearing. If another union is asking you or your colleagues to join, ask them what support they provide at Fitness to Practice Hearings. It really is a benefit to you to remain in a Union that provides this support to you.
We would welcome a discussion with the council on how they intend to implement the payment of the fees.
