FAO: GMB Members in DCC, LACD & TC’s

Dear Member

You may have already seen the recent press coverage this week on the GMB Dundee Equal Pay campaign, which highlights the importance of equality and putting an end to pay injustice.

Full article is available via the following link:

GMB have already lodged more than 800 claims for our members who work for Dundee City Council, Leisure & Culture Dundee and Tayside Contracts, which is just the tip of the iceberg.

Our members could receive thousands of pounds in compensation, for years of alleged lost earnings. As a GMB member who work for one of the above employers, you could be owed thousands of pounds like many more employees.

Our equal pay campaign has opened a process for our members to access our legal assistance scheme to pursue equal pay claims. GMB Scotland will assess all claims and support those we believe may be in scope. We believe many more of our members have lost out on thousands of pounds, but we can’t submit your claim for you – you must by law do this yourself.

Who and how do you submit your claim?

GMB members, any gender, who works for any of the above employers can submit a claim using our secure online form.

Please note that the online form asks for details of all contracts that you currently work and have worked in the past five years. Please ensure that you have added all relevant contracts and complete the form with as much information as possible.

Don’t delay, join our campaign and submit your claim. If you have not received an email or text message with the link to submit your claim, please contact the GMB Dundee office to ensure we have your correct contact details: 01382 225 491

If you have colleagues who are not in GMB, please encourage them to join the GMB. Once their membership has been processed, they too can submit a claim.
