Dear members,

We are dismayed at the courier article which notes that volunteers for redundancy will be sought.

Leisure and Culture are already stretched and when jobs go, that means those of you who are left will be expected to do more with less.  We already know that pools are being closed regularly as a result of staff shortages, and fail to understand the logic of cutting more.

LACD have not discussed this with us and we would never agree to detrimental changes or job cuts and we would always consult with you over proposed changes.

We are having meetings with members on Monday evening, 4th March at the Steps Theatre  at 4.00 and 5.30 and we would encourage you to attend if you can as this will impact on all levels of staff.
