GMB@Homecare Ballot

Dear Homecare Members

You will start to receive your industrial action ballot papers next week.

Your Unions, both GMB and UNISON are asking you to Vote YES for both questions and return your ballot paper in the post as soon as you can.

We have seen copies of the letters that have been issued to you, and we see no reassurances around shift patterns or having to reduce your pay.

At a general meeting with Trade Unions and Dundee City Council on Tuesday, management tried to tell us that they were never going to impose worse working conditions or a pay cut.

If you consider the proposals that have continually been issued from management, each one worse than the last, then you can be the judge of these empty words.

If you accepted split shifts or a reduction in hours on the latest proposals because YOU FELT YOU HAD NO CHOICE, your unions need to hear from you as soon as possible.

We want to ensure only those of you who want to change hours of work or split shifts have done so because this fits in with your circumstances and it is what you want to do.

Please see Susan Marnie if you are a GMB member or Gail Wallace if you are a UNISON member.

You can also contact your union offices.
