GMB@Homecare

Dear Homecare Member

Over the next few weeks we will be coming out to meet with our members. The dates and times of these are below. We will be carrying out our own survey to ensure that we can continue to defend your interests. We want to be able to support any member who cannot work split shifts, and indeed, we do not believe that split shifts are necessary to deliver the service. We believe split shifts to be detrimental to your health and your work / life balance.

We need to have a conversation with the council about how low paid women always seem to be the first to have terms and conditions attacked. It’s you now, it will be the rest of the council later. Let’s have a campaign to defend everyone’s terms and conditions.

It’s important that you complete the management questionnaires, however please do not feel pressurised into agreeing to a shift or contract change. The council can only change your contract with your agreement and if it does not suit you then do not agree to the change. We want everyone to have a choice – by staying united you do have a choice.

Please note that we will be sending out reminders of the above visits via text. We apologise for inconvenience, but this will ensure that you all get a chance to attend the above visits on this very important issue.

Didn’t get a text or email? Please call the Dundee office on 01382 225491 and leave a message if you can’t get through.

We’re also on the lookout for members like you to become involved and be the voice of your workforce. Please call the number above if you’re interested, or would like to know a bit more information. You can also speak to your rep, Susan Marnie. Full training and support is provided.

Come and join the fasted growing union in Scotland.
