GMB@DCCHOMECARE

Dear Member,

You will all be aware that GMB and UNISON have served formal notice over the weekend on the employer with the intention to hold a statutory ballot.
We believe, as a result of that notice, that Dundee City Council has sent you a letter regarding the homecare proposals.  These letters give no assurances on the raft of proposals other than the split shifts issue.
This dispute is far from over.  Your ballot papers will be dispatched from Monday, and it is absolutely vital that you fill in your ballot paper, Vote YES x 2 for industrial action and action short of strike and return your ballot papers as quickly as possible.
We need a big turnout from you to ensure that you retain the balance of power, and you have the opportunity to take action if we do not receive cast iron guarantees around your list of demands before the end of the ballot.
Dundee City Council have given us a date of the 27th March for a meeting – this does not suggest that there is any urgency on their part which means we continue with the ballot and the dispute.
Vote YES YES
