GMB@DCCBALLOT

Dear Members

We wanted to write out to you to let you know that the (mostly) women in Homecare in Dundee City Council have made a difference.

For two years, the predominantly female workforce fought hard with grit and determination against the threat of being forced to work split shifts, accept a pay cut of up to £4500, all against the backdrop of threats of privatisation if they did not accept worse working conditions.

The workers in Home care will now no longer be forced into worse working conditions.

The Home Care workers have shown that by standing together, and by getting involved, you can win.

The fight is now on for everyone’s terms and conditions that Dundee City Council unilaterally imposed in February without consultation.

Last chance to vote in your consultative ballot which closes on Monday 1st April at 12.00 Noon. You may have had an e-ballot to your phone, a postal ballot or workplace ballot.  If you have not received a ballot then please call Call 0141 332 8641 during office hours quoting Dundee City Council ballot as the Dundee Office is closed on Monday.  Someone will be able to issue you with the link to be able to vote on your smart phone or email.
