You’ll all be aware that the formal ballot to protect terms and conditions closed this afternoon.
There appears to be a very strong appetite for industrial action among you;
93% voted in favour of taking strike action and 96% voted in favour of action short of strike action.
However, over 50% of GMB members are required to vote due to legislation and 45% of you returned your ballot paper.
Not quite enough of you have returned your ballot papers to enable us to call anyone out for industrial action at this stage.
Thank you to every member that returned your ballot paper and got involved by phoning members or speaking to your colleagues in work.
We will be meeting with the reps in Dundee City Council very soon to discuss the next steps and as ever, we will keep you informed.
