Dear members,

The council will consider a proposal on the 18th February which will see an attack on YOUR terms and conditions.

They are proposing to:

Cap flexible retirement to 2 years (original proposal was 1 year)

Reduce conserved pay from 3 years to 6 months

Ending their no compulsory redundancy policy

We will never agree to detrimental changes to terms and conditions for any of our members and we will consult with all of you to see what you are prepared to do. Talk to your colleagues and encourage them to join a union.

THEY HAVE STATED THEY WILL NOT REMOVE THE COMPULSORY REDUNDANCY THREAT.

That can only mean one thing, in that they intend to make some of you redundant.  Your jobs are under threat.  You need to do three things now.

  1.  Write and visit YOUR councillors to demand they do not agree to worsening of your terms and conditions. You can find their contact details following this link https://www.dundeecity.gov.uk/service-area/councillors/councillors-political-wards-ward-number
  2.  Attend the Dundee Against Cuts demo on the 16th February and bring your friends and family
  3. Turn out in force for the 18th February meeting in the city square and make your voices heard

ASSEMBLE FROM THE UNITE OFFICE BLACKNESS ROAD ON SATURDAY 16TH FEBRUARY AND MARCH OFF AT 12.00 NOON TO ALBERT SQUARE
