GMB Tayside Contracts Members Update – Shielding

FAO: GMB Tayside Contracts Members – Update

Dear Member

We understand that our members have lots of queries due to the first ministers’ announcement, but please be assured GMB will work with our members and Tayside Contracts to provide you with regular updates.

Those employees who received the CMO letter dated 21 December do not need to attend work as of now – you can provide a copy of the CMO letter being sent today to Tayside Contracts as soon as you have received it.

Tayside Contracts are already aware of who their identified shielders are.  If any other employee was not identified last time but are now classed as someone that should be shielding, please advise your manager at your earliest convenience and provide them with a copy of your letter as soon as you receive it.

Please note, those who previously shielded as they were part of a household that had a person shielding due to medical conditions, this has now changed. Unless you are the parent/carer of a child or young person who has been instructed by the CMO to shield and cannot attend work as you need to care for that child/young person you should attend work (if your workplace is open).

GMB will meet with management regularly and will provide further updates in due course. In the meantime, if you have any queries please speak to your rep in the first instance. Stay safe, stay well and look after each other.
