GMB Dundee City Council Care Members
Thank you to everyone who completed the mental health survey we sent across Scotland.
Of our GMB care members in Dundee City Council who answered, the results are really quite stark.
85% of you told us no one had contacted you about mental health support so far.
7% of you told us you feel there is support in place for your mental health. 93% of you don’t.
Half of you believe there is no supportive measures in place whatsoever.
92% of you believe there is no bereavement support available.
83% of you feel that Covid-19 has had a detrimental impact on your mental wellbeing.
Less than half of you believe that you would be able to leave work to access urgent mental health support.
79% of you told us you fear for your own safety.
83% of you told us you are afraid to take the virus home.
67% of you told us you don’t feel you have enough PPE.
28% of you told us that dealing with bereavement is causing you stress at work.
We will be writing to the employer to ask that urgent support and signposting is put in place for you, and please don’t hesitate to contact your reps Susan Marnie and Sheila Petrie, or the branch email address which is dundee@gmb.org.uk if you have any issues you need to be raised.
If you still feel you don’t have adequate PPE, please speak to your managers and let us know.
