Helen Meldrum met this morning with Leisure and Culture management and asked what will happen with those of you on casual contracts and what will happen with your pay. They advised that Dundee City Council have not yet made a decision but that they will let us know as soon as they do.
GMB advised that at the very least, we expect those of you on casual contracts to be paid your average pay. This is in line with other leisure and culture organisations. As soon as we are informed, we will let you know.
For those of you who have accepted shifts but may not be able to work due to self isolating/ underlying health conditions, your pay will be honoured until the end of March until further decisions are taken.
Over the coming days and weeks you may be asked to do other roles in these unprecedented times. These will likely be roles that help to support the local community, and we would absolutely encourage you to volunteer if you can. Those of you who have underlying health conditions should be following government guidance and self isolating.
For all other members, those of you can work from home will be set up for that. Everyone else is still being asked to attend work although the buildings are closed.
We have agreed to set up a daily call with management and let you know the outcomes of these as soon as we can.
Please continue to let us know if you have any questions or queries and we will raise these daily with LACD.
