GMB Scotland COSLA: Your Ballot Countdown

Dear GMB Member

GMB Scotland in COSLA: Your Ballot Countdown

Yesterday, Monday 30 May 2022, GMB served formal notice to the following employers of our intention to ballot workers in Schools/Early Years and those who deliver Waste & Recycling services.

  • Dundee City Council
  • Perth & Kinross Council
  • Tayside Contracts

Ballots will be posted out on Monday 6 June and those involved in the ballot will start receiving them later that week. The ballot will run throughout the summer until Tuesday 26 July.

If you have not received your ballot paper by Monday 13th June at the latest, please contact the Dundee office 01382 225 491
(If your call is diverted to voicemail, please leave a message to advise you haven’t received the ballot paper with your Name, home address, contact telephone number and name of your employer)

The COSLA 2 per cent offer in the face of the biggest cost of living crisis in forty years is beneath contempt. It is clear that without a strong industrial response, this pay offer will mean many local government staff will go from the frontline of public service to below the breadline – an appalling prospect that we cannot leave unchallenged.

That’s why we are asking everyone balloted to vote YES for industrial action.

If you have colleagues who are not in GMB, please encourage them to join GMB:
